#nope #notgood #readersofinstagram #bookstagram #nomorestephanieplum I’ve read the whole series to this point, but this will be the last one for me. The use of the phrase “white slaver” by one character and then another character describing an indoor item as a “house x”... that’s unacceptable in 2018. It’s casually coded racism that has no place anywhere. Books like this are positioned to teach in a way that people can hear it, if they’ll try. Maybe I expected too much... but I refuse to believe that ‘no racism’ is too high an expectation.
